ANSCLO was incorporated in 2008 as an umbrella organization for community learning organizations in Nova Scotia, and exists for these organizations and the learners they serve.
Our mission is to support community based learning and to advocate for community learning organizations and the learners they represent.
We achieve our mission by promoting the work of community learning organizations, celebrating the achievements of adult learners in community based programs, sharing best practice, and advocating for policies and programs that benefit adult learners in Nova Scotia.
We promote and believe that literacy is a right for all Nova Scotians.
ANSCLO is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of board members and coordinators of community learning organizations in Nova Scotia who are elected at the Annual General Meeting. Board meetings are held quarterly and are open to the entire membership.
